Over the last decade, the BodyViz team has helped hundreds of anatomy educators engage their students with our interactive 3D anatomy learning platform. During several of our customer visits, we discussed the challenges of budget cycles, and in particular, how these schools can allocate spend-down money. We know that the normal budget cycles are most frequently used to acquire new tools and technologies; however, spend-down money can also be used to make meaningful investments in 3D anatomy software.

Finding Funding

We understand how frustrating the process to get new technology approved in normal budget cycles can be, luckily you still have options. Besides spend-down money, another great opportunity we help our customers pursue are grant funding sources. Numerous sources for external funding exist including the U.S. Department of Labor through the Workforce Innovation Fund, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Education, and the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Perkins Funding is a popular option with institutions that teach technical education. This grant is awarded to secondary and post-secondary institutions that house career and technical education (CTE) programs. Funding is awarded annually and Perkins has been a great resource for departments who struggle to get projects approved via the conventional budget process. Collin College in McKinney, Texas secured a Perkins grant to invest in BodyViz. Jackie Langford, Director of Healthcare Simulation, recently described the process:

“You cannot count on having spend-down money, and getting things approved in our regular budget can be harder than pulling teeth at times. When funding like Perkins comes along, everyone tries to jump on board.”

Our subscription pricing models take away some of the challenges many may experience when investing and budgeting for traditional licensing solutions. While still offering our standard licensing solutions, our subscription model has been very well received since its launch in 2020. A subscription plan is a great option for those who struggle with budgetary challenges and/or are not in the construction or renovation process. Due to the flexibility and scalability of BodyViz, we can tailor solutions based on your situation including adding our new anatomy content modules.
