The BodyViz team would like to congratulate Olivia De Kok on our Content and Curriculum team for her recent campus wide recognition! Olivia was recently featured in the Iowa State University newsletter and website for her undergraduate work within the Biological and Pre-Medical Illustration (BPMI) program, where she excelled in her course work and as a mentor for incoming freshman.
Olivia started her career in BPMI 4 years ago at Iowa State University. As a freshman, she was unsure as to what career path she wanted to take, and enrolled open option searching to find interest in her freshman biology and philosophy classes. After learning about the BPMI program at ISU, she felt it was the perfect fit for her skillsets and interests. She enrolled shortly after and began piecing together her path to becoming a medical illustrator.
Fast forward 3 years, Olivia now has a long list of accomplishments that she can certainly be proud of! Between juggling the demanding courses within the BPMI program, Olivia has also found success in mentoring open option freshman and of course, her internship with BodyViz! Olivia has spent her senior year working as an intern on our Content and Curriculum team. Using BodyViz’s 3D anatomy software, Olivia has developed instructional content that is used in the BodyViz eLearning modules. These modules are eventually distributed to academic institutions, providing students a foundation for studying human anatomy.
Upon graduation this upcoming Saturday, Olivia will be joining the BodyViz Content and Curriculum team as a full-time member. We are more than excited to have Olivia continue to advance her skills with the rest of the BodyViz team and are greatly looking forward to watching her further her career as a medical illustrator!
