BodyViz to be Featured on The Biggest Loser - Season 10
BodyViz will show contestants their excessive pericardial and epicardial fat as both a motivator and a reality check.

After appearing on the hit NBC television show The Biggest Loser in January, BodyViz is expected to be featured on the weight loss reality show's upcoming Season 10. BodyViz, the 3D MRI/CT visualization software company out of Ames, IA, will show contestants their excessive pericardial and epicardial fat (fat adjacent to and outside of the heart) as both a motivator and a reality check. BodyViz CEO Curt Carlson comments, "It's a tremendous opportunity to be featured on a megahit such as The Biggest Loser. We have an excellent relationship with Dr. Huizenga and the rest of The Biggest Loser crew, and the exposure is great for the BodyViz brand. " On the previous Biggest Loser appearance, BodyViz turned torso MRIs into 3D visuals. The contestant’s fat layers were exposed and visually explained by Dr. Huizenga. In early June, the BodyViz staff was on call with The Biggest Loser crew to shoot new footage. For Season 10, cardiac CT scans were used with much higher resolution than the MRIs from the previous season. Scott Rodenburg, Manager of Business Development and Operations at BodyViz, says "The new cardiac CT scans have four times the resolution in comparison to the previous season’s imaging, so the visualization for the viewing audience will be much clearer and it will be a great motivator for the contestants.”

The first reality series where everybody "loses," The Biggest Loser challenges and encourages overweight contestants to shed pounds in a safe and recommended manner through comprehensive diet and exercise as they compete for a grand prize of $250,000.
